We have had a BUSY, but fun HOLIDAY season this year.... it started with THANKSGIVING.... we had TWO this year... ONE in WILSONVILLE and ONE in MEMPHIS... i only came away with PICTURES from MEMPHIS... and not many... we had a GREAT time STUFFING our faces with DELICIOUS food and ENJOYING great FELLOWSHIP....
....we THEN quickly moved into CHRISTMAS mode... decorating GUM DROP trees and COOKIES... what child(or pregnant mama) wouldn't ENJOY this time of year?.... picking out and decorating our TREE was really FUN this year... you could just see the excitement in READ and KELLEY's eyes... we even had a visit from the ELF... "PICCOLO READ"... was his name... we could NOT touch him and he MOVED around our HOUSE every day until SANTA came and took him back to the NORTH POLE....
we not only decorated OUR tree... but we HELPED pete and happy get their tree UP... you can tell PETE needed all the HELP he could GET!!
READ had his CHRISTMAS program at school and it was so CUTE.... they sang a list of SONGS...and read was so PROUD of himself...
We ventured out to see HOHO/SANTA.... i knew it would be just as years past... PLENTY of tears... but i also knew we would RECOVER just fine...as we WAITED in line... KELLEY kept her distance, watching all the other CHILDREN take their turn....
then of course it was our turn... and you can SEE that KELLEY meant what she said... "HOHO scares ME".... as i scooped her back in my arms, i told her to tell SANTA what she wanted for christmas... and through her TEARS, said..." a bike".... READ with a smile on his face, of course, said HE wanted "THREE star WARS movies".....
CHRISTMAS morning was GREAT!... SANTA brought them a TENT, sleeping bags, CAMERAS, star wars books, and a radio flyer TRICYCLE... to say the least, we had a BIG, FUN christmas...
we headed to the LAKE for CHRISTMAS dinner.... all the COUSINS were there... and we had a BALL.... the FOOD was DELICIOUS, of course... and we had a great time celebrating JESUS' birthday AND catching up with EVERYONE.... it's been a while since it was just "GAGES" at "HOME" for christmas..... HAPPY and PETE outDID themselves.... and we are blessed.... so THANKFUL for family...and our TIME together!
OH! did i mention we had SNOW on CHRISTMAS?!? we DID!... it was so FUN... i only got KELLEY's picture in the SNOW for some reason... but at least we DOCUMENTED the WHITE CHRISTMAS of 2010!
HAPPY's face pretty much sums up how we feel that CHRISTMAS is OVER... but WE still have some FUN to look forward to.... a TRIP to MEMPHIS..... and BABY WALTON! so really, CHRISTMAS coming to an end this YEAR... isn't sending me into my usual post CHRISTMAS depression... but it is only getting me more EXCITED that our days are getting CLOSER to meeting the BABY that has been GROWING and WIGGLING inside my belly for the last 8 months!!!
2010 has been a year full of ups and downs... from losing sam's dad in january... losing norval, mom's oldest and dearest friend in march...to finding out new life was growing.... WE truly have been BLESSED...GOD carried us through... just as HE promises HE will... we have seen HIM at work in SO many ways... and we are GRATEFUL that we serve a GOD that LOVES us more than we could EVER imagine... so i wonder, WHAT oh WHAT will 2011 bring?!?!....
